Trev - SolarCar Threewheeler Design Project
Discussion
I did mention the TREV on the mega threewheeler thread of a few years back..., but it's worth its own thread as the build techique might be of interest for any modern light kitcar project.
The TREV is a very interesting Threewheeler Design, with a tub chassis made from aluminium honeycomb boards.

There are some limitations using this form of construction, styling is more than a little constrained, access to components is nowhere near as easy as when a multi tubular chassis structure is used, accident damage is not generally as easy to repair , the cost, at £200 + per sheet is also an issue IMO.
For a 1 off I can see the attraction though, relatively easy design/build as only flat sheets used, minimal jigging compared to a tubular chassis, but very careful consideration needed as to how loads are fed into the structure, not forgetting it should be lightweight.
So, in answer to your question Italo , personally I do not see this as the future, a tubular design as per your rendering would probably be a better option .
