Jass Performance has just launched a new Upper Shift Boot, would be rude not to order one

Received another order from RevLimiter, this time retro inspired Horn Button and Oil Cap

The next installment is what i've been waiting to order for a long time, and i know it's going to have alot of mixed opinions

Garage Star Wing Stands with a Megan Racing Wing biggrin

The spoiler is just mocked up at the moment, need brackets making as the Wing is wider than the stands. Its on its highest mount point,i'll be bringing it down a little bit to make it more in line with the roof. I'll be making a diffuser while the bumper is off, makes sense as i've got the access at the moment.

I've also got a spare bumper to trial cut before i cut mine smile

Once the back is finished,i'll then start on the front smile

I can't help but feel the wing is a bit tall no? Looks good from the front but can't help when you can see all that empty space below it that there's a bit much.

It's in about the right spot for making downforce. The air won't flow down off the soft-top roof nicely so there's a bit of a low pressure area there meaning a low mounted wing won't do much. Whether that much downforce will be desirable or even safe without doing something at the front is another matter.

I saw an update and thought, "Yay!"
Instead I cried a little.

I own a MK1, I love a BGW but this has just taken one of the nicest 5's I've seen and has ruined it when viewed from behind for me, I know it's your car and you can do what you want but it's a real shame. It's the uprights, they just don't fit with any of the lines or the style of the car

I guess no one can accuse you of not doing it the way you want to though and I salute that

I've read every update to this thread from the start, and this is the first time you've gone wrong. Your car is mint and the mods you've done have always made it look better. That wing is awful, doesn't suit anything you've done previously and detracts from a great build. I know it's your choice and all but there must be a better wing that will suit the car and go with your previous efforts.

Im not adding much to what has been said but and im not normally a fan of mazdas but what a build thread! Have also been following it form start to finish and I find the ducktail little spoiler it currently has on is perfect, if you have to put a bigger one on I guess the A-Spec Type 1 wouldn't be too bad but that one you are looking at putting on, even if shorter doesnt suit the car at all.
All said it's your car though and not mine and look forward for future progress smile

I know its gonna divide opinions, and i had thought for a looong time about this. But spending on the car is coming to an end very soon and i know if i didnt at least try it,i'd always regret it. It can be un-bolted,its not like i'm bolting it through the rear quarters smile

It'll be just below the roof line, from what i can understand,it'll be functional at that height

If this adds downforce to the rear, won't you need to balance it with more at the front?

Undecided about the wing. Will wait until i see it in the lower position. Don't the uprights obstruct the lights a bit though?
Also is the gearshift boot just a CV gaitor? lol
