Advice please

Hi.
I'm looking at modifying a hard plastic trim piece ( radio console ) in my mx5 , so will need to cut a piece out
and make good.

Would body filler and alloy mesh( on the back ) be a good idea to attach a repair panel and smooth the joins kind of ???

Fibreglass would be a more durable solution. and easier to work with.

Hi Rob, just googled that... Impressive stuff . Guess you could improvise on that specialist tool with a soldering iron maybe , and some bent wire ??
