Dominican Republic - last minute advice?

Leave on Jan 8th - to say I'm looking forward to it would be something of an understatement! Not had a foreign holiday since 1999, and that was four days in New York, so a bit hectic.
Staying in Las Terrenas in the BGP El Portillo. Three of us, all inclusive.
We have our US dollars, some local knowledge, one of us speaks Spanish reasonably well, the rest we'll wing. Passports ready, innocs up to date.
Anything we might not have thought of, or need to know?
