Anyone getting their car delivered tomorrow ? Mines is being delivered from Chesterfield VW. I'm assuming it will arrive on a transporter? It's from leaseplango, but it all seems very vague, no mention of payment, or no questions about my street, like is the access ok for a transporter. Surely they won't be driving it from England to Scotland? I should have asked more questions, but after months of waiting it seems to have creeped up on me lol. Going to phone first thing in the morning to clarify. Sorting the insurance out is proving a bit of a pain, I think leaseplango want to see the insurance docs. I'm with an online insurer- not doing that again!
My (the wife's) car is being delivered tomorrow.also ordered through LeasePlan Go. It is being supplied by a dealer about 90 miles away. Dealer was initially going to have it driven up stating that cars are only transported if over 100 miles. The wife complained to LPG who then instructed the dealer to trailer it. Dealer has agreed. I am guessing you are more than 100 miles away from your supplying dealer,. In which case it should be trailered. Give the dealer a call in the morning to make sure and to confirm when it is arriving. With regards to insurance certificate. I checked with supplying dealer. They don't care if you have insurance or not. You sign for the car and it then becomes your liability. I checked also with LPG. They are happy of you send them the insurance certificate for their records when you get it.
The supplying dealer has your address. LPG have your bank details so will draw on the Direct Debit when the deposit and payments are due.
Have fun and be sure to post back your experiences with the 'Rolf" when you have driven it.

Didn't realise there are still such good deals for these, going to be putting my MK5 R32 up for sale somewhere between October and December so I hope they'll still be about then!
It's either one of these or an M135i, though for some reason i'm pulled towards the Golf.
The Beemer is good up to a point, but ultimately flawed. It's either one of these or an M135i, though for some reason i'm pulled towards the Golf.
The R looks better, has more class and, perhaps more importantly, rides and handles better.
The R just beats it, plain and simple.

Thanks for the reply, all sorted, car is en route on a transporter. Will report back, goin to be hard trying to take it easy to run it in. What's the general consensus on this- 1000 miles? I've heard it can affect future fuel and oil consumption if you don't, but what about all those demo cars, that are getting thrashed from new? With regards to insurance certificate. First I have heard of the 1000 miles.
I usually drive new cars with a bit of mechanical sympathy, but you can feel the engine loosen up and when that happens I am happy to give them the full beans.
I like the sound of that method more lol. Guy just phoned to say it should be here about 11:30:-)I usually drive new cars with a bit of mechanical sympathy, but you can feel the engine loosen up and when that happens I am happy to give them the full beans.
You got yours yet?

No nothing yet. Dealer advised late morning / lunch time. I am working from home and keep checking out the window every few minutes in the hope they will be early. You got yours yet?
Yes run it in, unless you want it sat in the garage for repairs, while you're paying the lease and have a crappy Up! as a hire car instead.
Regardless of "its only a lease", if it breaks down in the time you have it, its you that loses out not the next person :]
Done just under 2.5k miles in mine now, still love it. Average 27mpg, highest mpg was 39.5mpg over 100 miles, lowest 6.4mpg.
As for people posting business leases - pretty pointless don't you think considering everyone is after a personal one?
Anyway, just thought I'd check up

Are there any running in instructions? I make it a point never to read the manual. Mine revs quite freely despite having covered less than 40 miles. I don't rag my cars when cold or let them labour in high gear.
There is a school of though that breaking them in hard ensures longevity and low oil consumption. It has always worked for me.

If your on a limited 2 yr mileage lease I would not waste time. Just drive it like you stole it There is a school of though that breaking them in hard ensures longevity and low oil consumption. It has always worked for me.

My sentiments exactly...The bad news is that thanks to some local scumbag keying my R26 last week I have lost my sale so I have today deferred delivery from tomorrow to the 11th - doubley hacked-off!
I dont want to do an insurance claim just before getting the R as the £231 insurance I have been quoted on the R will go way up, so forced to sell at a much reduced price...grrrrr!!!
