Anybody else going around dazzling everybody with there full beam? On country roads I keep forgetting its on as the sign on the dash is very small and the same colour of blue as the needles, so you hardly notice it at a glance.
No but on a related point, my headlight range on normal dip seems much longer and stronger on the passenger side - anyone else noticed this?David
Can anyone tell me what the deal currently is with the Golf R leases? I've seen the business deal for a little under £200 / month and the personal at a little under £300 / month.
I'm a ltd company and would like to lease a Golf R but obviously i want the busness rate but I dont want to pay for it from my business account as i'll be liable for BIK.
Is this possible?

Spoke to my local dealer and they said you need to be VAT registered in order to be approved, doesn't matter if you're LTD etc...you need VAT proof. I looked out my VAT certificate and it's got the company bank details on it so I've got a feeling that's the only one that they'll accept for the finance.I'm a ltd company and would like to lease a Golf R but obviously i want the busness rate but I dont want to pay for it from my business account as i'll be liable for BIK.

In the end it actually worked out cheaper going PCP with DriveTheDeal discount than the lease cost. And that was before I added BIK. (I was adding options to my lease though)
I didn't bother pursing further so you may want to confirm the VAT thing yourself but they seemed dead set on it + trading for a year, although we know what dealers are like...

But if you take a business lease then you should be paying an extra £130 odd a month BIK to the tax man if you're a 20% tax payer and double that if you're a 40% tax payer. If the car is used for personal too and not solely used for business then you can only claim 10% of the VAT back and not the full 20%.
Now weight that up against a personal deal and tell me a proper legit business deal still looks as attractive...
Just looked into this.
If you are not a limited company you can still hire the car and you don't have to pay BIK!!!
You can claim a proportion of the lease as expenses and then a proportion of the fuel you buy relative to the engine size and business miles.
Seems like a great deal as it's even better than if it was personal lease at the same price as business lease.
