This might put the cat amongst the pigeons but Volkswagen have today announced that they are relaxing the Contract Hire rules....The PCH product has been shelved and there is now only a Contract Hire product but this is available to private individuals. Proof of business is no longer needed and they can propose in individual names rather than t/as names.

Quote "There is a small market for RETAIL customers who want to lease rather than buy" & "Therefore proof of business is no longer required"

I wonder if the bad press has anything to do with this?

Some dealers may be reluctant to quote due to the uncertainty over these changes, but this product is available to private individuals and your local dealer will be able to supply and quote.

Quotes on a 5dr manual (6+23 CH) - Non maintained
5k to 10k per annum = £206.68 per month + VAT
11k per annum = £213.55 per month + VAT
12k per annum = £220.77 per month + VAT

Do you have an actual link to this or is it just hearsay?
Figures you quoted aren't particularly spectacular tbh
£7682.68 (12kpa)
Compared to around £6500.00 back in June

Sure....

http://www.nationalvehiclesolutions.co.uk/Volkswag...

I haven't private leased before so don't know what they are like to deal with, reviews on the web seem fairly favourable and they were helpful (advising me to pay excess mileage on a 10k pa deal rather than take out a 15k pa deal)

The DSG is frustratingly £70 a month more

"PCH Conditions apply"

They have hoops you need to jump through.

As I say never private leased but would have thought that all companies would state that conditions that apply .. what hoops would they be ?

Basically, you must either receive a car allowance, be able to re-claim business mileage or be a Director of a limited company.

Thanks for the link btw

Ah right, ok that is good to know. I get an allowance in lieu of taking a company car so I guess that should satisfy that.

Cheers for the info

Best of luck to who still hasn't got theirs yet - the deals are interesting but I worry they're just BCHs in disguise again - hopefully not for you folks, though I imagine that'll be a March delivery time now, as the orders are stacking up!

Done 3500 in mine now over 2 and a bit months, and absolutely love it. Annoyingly my MPG counter "From Start" reset around 200 miles ago, but my entire average WAS 27. It's admittedly less now I've opened it up more now, but can see 40mpg on a run easily :].

Does anyone have a link to a written statement by VW or something similar?

I'd like to see it in writing before I give my dealer a call to see what can be done, if anything about my order.

Don't know if anyone's interested but i had another order that was a month or so behind my main order - i have just had a text to say the old order has moved to stage 3 with a confirmed build week, - 17/10/2014.

Spec was 5 Door DSG in red with no extras - order number ends 2133, give Inchcape cheltenham a call and ask for David Middleton. - Assuming they haven't allocated it to anyone else already!

Well it looks like maybe my interview with Radio4 You and Yours wasn't in vain! biggrin

I have received today this email from Vehicle Savers who I had originally order my car from before the "scandal" broke.

Dude from Vehicle Savers said:
There is indeed a new Personal Contract hire deal.

Volkswagen have realised that they have to have a personal product on the market to fit in with the new FCA regulations.

Please see quote below.
£300 + vat docs fee please

VW Golf R 2.0TSi 5dr
6+23 10k pa
Red £188 + vat
White £195 + vat
Metallic £203 + vat

VW Golf R 2.0TSi 3dr
6+23 10k pa
Red £187 + vat
White £194 + vat
Metallic £202 + vat

VW Golf R 2.0TSi 5dr DSG
6+23 10k pa
Red £211 + vat
White £219 + vat
Metallic £226 + vat
They appear even better than the original deals as they were only 5000 miles per annum.

I am just waiting to hear back about the excess mileage charge.

What to do eh? I've already bought a used car to tide me over.

Or better still :

1 x 1800
23 x 204 4692
1800 + 4692 + 199 = 6691

Tornado Red
5 Door
Manual
10000 mpa
7p excess

Is that the HUKD one? I've not done any sums or had chance to put all these figures in my spreadsheet yet to compare.

Anyone that has their current dealer through inchape Cheltenhaminchape/Arval going to give them a call? I was pretty happy with my 1x 1677 23x276 deal but seeing these emails coming through is making me unsettled - do you think we will be able to get a better deal?

Just had an email from Solent leasing advising 10k miles, 2000+vat down and 148.99+vat per month. Delivery Feb/Mar.

grass is always greener. stick with what you've got. if it worked out good value at the time then that hasn't changed.

you would have already done all the math and calculated that you were happy with the deal.

£300 a month for a £32k car and every aspect of maintenance taken care of is fantastic, imo of course.

Im sticking with my deal and getting the car hopefully within 3 weeks!!!!
