Hi All,
I have contacted my local VW dealer and been offered the following for a 5 door DSG model:
2000 deposit excluding vat
175.99 x23 excluding vat
Is this a good deal or should I expect a better deal from a VW dealer?
Thanks
That's an extremely good price for a Dsg .£7257 total over the 2 years inc vat! I'm not sure I've seen it cheaper. I have contacted my local VW dealer and been offered the following for a 5 door DSG model:
2000 deposit excluding vat
175.99 x23 excluding vat
Is this a good deal or should I expect a better deal from a VW dealer?
Thanks

mine arrived yesterday.
Have not stopped smiling
haven't really had a chance to play properly, but Race mode, bury the throttle and that noise....
Ill try launch control in the next few days. not feeling brave enough yet
one thing i will say, it looks a bit more 'in yer face' than i was expecting.

Dropped jct600 a mail. Hope they can offer a good deal. Need to decide on a sensible spec. Am thinking 5 doors, manual and White (as I apparently made my wife sell her white gti 15 years ago). What else is worth considering for a good basic spec? Any must have extras? It's cold in the Peak District and so i will look at a winter pack.
The only issue I have with leasing is that all extras seemed to be charged in full over the term of the lease. Leather seats for example add around £80ish a month to the cost.
Good luck with emailing the dealer too. I drove down to my local VW dealership and couldn't even get a test drive.
I had to chase the dealer for my current car just to get him to sell it to me!

Whilst this is true, I look at it like this: 1. I am going to be driving the car for the next 2 years so I want it equipped for me.
2. Some of the extras do add a fair bit to the monthly but some less so. Mine will have Winter pack, panoramic roof, reverse camera, keyless entry and the lesser SatNav option which altogether added about £100 a month. Total extra cost therefore will be about £2400 - buying some new cars, you could easily spend that and (a lot) more, just upgrading the alloys.
3. Depreciation and loss of value of options on new cars can be astronomical, too. (Re-sale of poorly optioned cars may be a factor here admittedly).
4. The total cost for leasing the R for two years fitted with these extras is still excellent value for money, imo.
I will admit that some of the options I have chosen are fripperies but the Winter pack, satnav and reverse camera are useful to me and in my work.
In any case, how often do you get to option up a brand new car? This will be only my 3rd new one out of all of the cars I have had so a bit of a splurge can easily be justified (ref: Man Maths, for any doubters still out there...)
