Some guy just rang me from a car finance place.
Got a black R in stock with Leather, Nav and panoramic roof.
£339 a month plus VAT and 6 months down plus vat which is 2.4k.
Not bad at all and good for those who don't want to wait.
I will pass on details to all who are interested

This is the deal I got from a local VW dealer - very similar it seems to Naz's. I went for the 5 door manual in Red for £2,400 upfront and £179.99 a month all inclusive of vat.
3 other dealers I contacted said they couldn't do PCH and said PCP worked out cheaper etc but then dealer for below knew all about the offer and was very helpful. I will check with them tomorrow if they happy for me to pass on their details.

Gone for 3 dr manual in Limestone Grey with Naz's contact for £6,973.63.
Not quite as cheap as Dan's contact but other closer and with fuel it works out best for me. To be honest I would have happily gone for either. After having over a week of dealers that couldn't be bothered to get back to me and others patronising me. I sure that just because I'm a Sheila they thought I was stupid.
Thanks for everyone's help.

My cars arrived at the dealers.
Signed the revised finance docs (costing £8.60 per month extra over my original business deal) and now just waiting for when they can get car trailered upto me.
Not as cheap as some of the latest deals but too much effort and time to cancel and re order, especially since wait times are now 7 months.
Same boat as me. Phil has a lot to answer for but just thankful I have the car and it's not 'that' expensive for what we are gettingSigned the revised finance docs (costing £8.60 per month extra over my original business deal) and now just waiting for when they can get car trailered upto me.

Hey guys,
I've already taken delivery of my Golf R but had an exchange with the dealer yesterday and thought I'd post up the deal here to see if it helps anyone out.
Golf R 3 Door Manual Tornado Red: 6+23 10k per annum = £226.63 including VAT
Golf R 3 Door Manual Metallic: 6+23 10k annum = £244.50 including VAT
Golf R 5 Door Manual Tornado Red: 6+23 10k per annum = £227.85 including VAT
Golf R 5 Door Manual Metallic: 6+23 10k per annum = £245.85 including VAT
Let me know if you'd like details, not too sure how it compares with others. Apparently March delivery but obviously I can't guarantee it.
Just to make things really clear, I have already got my Golf R and this benefits me in no way.

Are you saying that the original VWFS deal @ (if i recall) £207 inc VAT (6/23) is not being honored come delivery time?To clarify my 'deal' worked out around £30 pm inc vat more expensive due to being incorrectly quoted for maintenance and tyre cover
my deal also had to be transferred to VW due to lack of clarity regarding what proofs of business miles would be required by arval (read i asked for a personal lease, was told this was personal but you can get 'business' rates if you can show anything to prove IF you ever had to use your car for business that you could get it reimbursed)
So original deal with Arval
1770 deposit inc vat
275 pm inc vat
7000 miles p/a
maintenance
tyre cover
Blagged business lease
Current deal with VWFS
1870 deposit inv vat
303 pm inc vat
10000 miles p/a
maintenance
tyre cover
full personal lease
