Hi guys,

Am I right in thinking it's a straight forward swap of standard wrx callipers and discs for sti brembos on my Hawkeye??

Sort of. They will bolt straight on but you'll need wheels that will clear the brembos. iirc, the wrx wheels don't.

Johnny.

There was an episode of Wheeler Dealers where they did exactly this, about 24 mins in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eo4C1m6f3DM

Not sure if I'd recommend the looks they go for though......

Wide track STIs have a larger PCD (114mm) so the discs won't fit directly onto a WRX.

Edited to correct 114mm

As long as the brakes come from hubs with the same lug pattern, (100x5 or 114x5) then yes, they'll bolt on. But as others have said the standard wrx wheels won't clear the callipers. The sti wheels are wider and lighter though, so a good upgrade regardless.

These are not wide track STIs.

Ahh, missed that part. Fair enough.

As before OP, you want brakes off a 2001 to 2004 sti

So is there a non-wide track sti?

Yeah. Bugeye models and the first 2 years of blobeye were the standard 100x5 PCD.

After that the sti became "widetrack" with larger hubs, wider wheels and increased track width.

Hope that makes sense

If the offset is correct. Hence the usual swap for sti alloys as well.

So what offset do they need?

The STI alloys were always +53, as opposed to the WRX's +55.

So presumably you could get around it with a 5mm spacer.

IN addition to ensuring the brake discs are 5x100 PCD, you'll need a handbrake adapter.
