It looks a bit like 'cissy boxing' to me.

Imagine being at dinner and excitedly telling a girl you are into boxing, the thrill of the contest, the man against man primal struggle for victory, the pain, the joy etc and suddenly your mate leans over and says 'fk off Rocky! You do touch-rugby boxing with girls!'

You're then forced to explain to her that it's actually white-collar boxing and bouts are stopped when you break a nail.

None of us want up see what the girl at the dinner table does next, do we?

Why not just do proper boxing? It's not that dangerous at a club level, is it??

Can't see the point in inviting people to beat me around the head and upper body, blunt trauma to the brain is not a great idea unless you like becoming uncoordinated and drooling.

I suppose as a stepping stone to see if you want to take up real boxing, but not anything long term.

You might as well just go to some 'boxercise' class at the local 'fat' club if you want to do it for fitness.

If you want to die, BASE jumping is much more effective, with a 1 in 2300 odd chance of death.

This list of locations where this takes place is interesting, wonder just how many white collar folk you'll actually find in Wakefield, Chesterfield or Stoke? ;o)

I train with the boxers at my local club.

They don't make any allowances for those of us too old / fat / scared to fight.

The only difference is, when the bigger boys are sparring the rest of us get more bag work.

Sounds like a fair compromise to me.

This is what I call real white collar boxing:

http://www.eastgrinsteadcourier.co.uk/Police-calle...

or this one

http://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/city-broker-k...

“I first became aware of a problem when I was struck,” he said.

“I was standing there (at the bar) talking to a colleague when someone from my work punched me in the face.”

After-party at NONO8; a really rough bar that has had no end of assaults and stabbings right outside.

There is nothing white collar about this.

A friend of my brother works in Hong Kong and they did a "Hedge Fund Fight Night" to raise money for charity. It was pretty serious business though and I know they trained for months beforehand.

If you need further evidence of this, you need look no further than the spelling 20 seconds into the clip.
