Apologies if this has been asked already, have not been following the thread.
I'm going to the States in a few weeks time - will a US iPhone 6 be compatible with the 3G/4G networks over here?
Yes it was asked, there is also a separate thread about it.

US phones don't seem to be SIM free, they seem to be sold locked to t-mobile, but without a contract. (at least that's the way I read it on the US website)

Additionally if you buy a phone from Apple in the UK you are covered by the SOGA.

Ordered today. With EE as although Vodaphone etc are cheaper their network coverage is nothing on EE.

£43.99/month phone cost £139 through phones4u. £50 quidco cashback so effective £89 phone price. 64GB. Don't see why anyone would go for 16GB much too small.

I want a sim free phone.
I'm off Friday for 5 days.
If I went at say 7am with a camping chair and a good book would I likely get one?

I doubt it but it's possible. Even the Apple staff don't know what stock they're getting in (if any)

Good job I paid on my credit card so no worries if it goes tits up, was a good deal too. Wonder if EE will pick up the order or not.

My 4S is running better than ever, but I'm starting to get itchy feet. I'd love a 6 64GB but I'm not sure I can bring myself to spend £600+ on a phone. My other consideration is the Z3 Compact at roughly £350, but since my 4S has been so good, I'm thinking I'd rather stick with Apple, or indeed just keep my 4S going. It's just a shame they didn't make the 6 water & dust proof. That's a big draw on the Z3.

The problem is is that they don't have to for the phone to sell frown

Hmm, it's more than that, the waterproof cover required for the cable can be considered a faff if you don't have wireless charging.
On top of that, a lot of components need some serious adjustments (mic, speaker, headphone plug, front button, side buttons, sim card slot,...).

The Z3 compact does seem more towards the 5(S) in terms of size, despite the display being more the size of the "6".

What I do reccon is that this growing in size will be very good for the second hand value of the 5S. Some people might want to stick to that size for the time being, just like the ATV2 is so expensive second hand because it can be hacked, so very good news for 5S owners I think.

That's easy. Firstly, if someone didn't like music or films that much and didn't keep all their photos and music on their phone, 16GB would be more than adequate. Secondly, if the phone was purely for business, in most cases it also wouldn't have much media on it.

A 16gb would probably do for me, it has been plenty for my iPhone 5.
I don't keep any music on there as its all on a 160gb iPod which lives in my car.
Every so often I backup photos onto my laptop and clear them off the phone, so I barely ever go over 10gb of usage

Hmm, how much is this in real space? About 12GB?
With the high quality cameras on these phones and the size of some apps (Copilot on my 4S takes up 2.5GB in maps for Europe), this might seem a bit cramped. Still a bit of an oddball decision to drop the 32GB instead of the 16GB? Maybe a bit of a nudge towards the 64GB? smile

For me, I have the 32GB 4S and that was plenty, my Nexus 5 was also 32GB, the SGS2 was 16GB but I used an SD card. 32GB would be perfect for me, 16GB just might not cut it.
