I have to say it looks and feels stunning, the curved edges, new and larger screen, improved home button and then the responsiveness coming from a 5 is great. Overall very happy. I got the official leather case but it's a shame to cover this beauty up.

I've had many texts from O2 today. My iPhone6 is ready, great. They've also offered me £330 for my iPhone5 trade in. My Amazon Fire is also going to be delivered soon!

Good job O2.

Well, having seen my Wife's 6 today I think it has made my mind up that ordering a Plus was a mistake! I cannot believe that it's going to be a practical size for carrying around. Using it? I bet it's great. Day in day out, I bet it gets annoying quickly.

So, my 64GB Plus Grey will be going back as soon as it arrives and I'm going to get a 128GB 6 in Silver instead. Going for white as the grey one looks crap in any of the coloured cases.

Somehow, I don't think my device willl be in my hands tomorrow since the the tracking says it hasn't left incheon (Korea) yet. I'm thinking those Apple emails were sent in error.

Can someone update what the battery is like please? I'm fed up of charging my 5 twice a day.

Luckily my parents are heading back to Hong Kong next month for a holiday. The equivalent iPhone 6 64GB is a good £119 cheaper than in the UK. It's unbelievable how much UK customers are fleeced.
What's the VAT/sales tax in HK?
No sales tax, but good luck trying to buy an iPhone 6 without an ID Card and HK Address within a month or two of it's release. I was in HK for four months this time last year and there was a reservation system that required HK ID for what little iPhone 5S availability there was. I ended up ordering online to our apartment address instead.

Well I didnt get a delivery txt, but got home and both had been left with a neighbour!

Have set it up and very happy with it so far. The screen is a big improvement I think, haven't really messed about with much yet. But now holding the 5 it feels small….

I just shouted "hey Siri" at my wife's iPhone6 and it responded with my name. How the fvck did it know who I was, straight out of the box?

I picked my 6 up in the US today and the queue for buying iPhones with out pre-order was massive and was all Chinese. Apparently it is like this across the US as they are buying them and sending them to relatives in China to sell at 3 times the price

6 plus turned up today and after the first shock and 10 minutes getting used to it, I'm now happy with the size and really enjoy using it.

One question though. I don't want a case as I don't like them, but I would like the corners protecting. Does anyone know of a bumper type thing which only covers the corners? Like with sticky insides or anything?

Definitely not £330. Maybe a 5s.

It was the same in Aberdeen. First ten or so in the walk up queue were Chinese. All paid cash too.

Grovemade do bumpers ; http://grovemade.com/collections/case

Or are you looking for something to go on the corners only?

Yeah I wondered if they did anything at all which covered the corners only? Something like this but a bit more discrete!

ETA - Found these for the iphone 5.....I think they're fantastic! I hope they bring something like this out for the 6 soon!

So folks with their new toys, are they any good then?

Slightly O/T, are Apple releasing new iPads any time soon? Was thinking of getting one, maybe around Christmas time.
Yes, very pleased with it... It arrived around 10am via UPS as I was chairing a 2 hour meeting. So it sat unwrapped, in it's sealed box, next to me for the duration of the meeting...! Quite funny really, I figured opening it during a meeting wouldn't look too professional.

I quite like the larger size, viewing photos on it look superb. It's noticeably slimmer too. The curved glass looks classy.

In many ways it's not a giant leap on from a 5S. But I'm pleased with it.

Possibly daft question, but would a sim-only contract show up on one's credit score?

Reason I ask is that my current mobile contract is the only credit item I currently have, and would obviously like maintain that for the sake of maintaining a good credit history.
Believe it or not, having credit and keeping on top of it as much better than not having credit.

So, first day impressions. I like.

Small subtle changes to iOS 8 are nice, I used voice activation 3 times today to send texts and call people, because I didn't have to touch the phone at all. I've never used Siri that much in my life.

The size really isn't that bad, I held my 5S with 2 hands when typing anyway so no big deal.

The predictive text above the keyboard is a nice feature if a bit hit and miss.

Battery is noticeably better, took it off charge at 11, used all day and still at 57%!!
Welcome to 2012. Personally I'd feel a bit of a cock talking to my phone when sending a text message.
