It seems about right to me, or at least it correlates with the steps on my girlfriends Fitbit. The only time it gets confused if if I go out on my bike, it counts a load of steps, but also classes it as walking/running less distance than I cycled.

I've just got my 6, 128Gb in Space Grey, and transferred everything across on iCloud, so far am very impressed, I was concerned it would be too big but in use it feels just right.

I got a Cygnett carbon fibre case for it which is good, proper carbon fibre too.

I'll be interested how battery life stacks up, my 5 was one of the ones with the battery recall, so will be going back before I pass it on to my dad for him to use.
That is the case I got too - I had one on my iPhone 5 for 2 years and thought it was great, so ordered one as soon as I ordered the iPhone 6.
I've noticed a slight problem with this case - you can't plug in a 30pin to lightening adaptor, as the cut out is smaller than the connector. This is especially annoying as I need to use the adaptor in my car, which is hardwired with a 30pin connector.

Why does the health app record virtually every movement of the phone as a step? I've taken 7 steps sitting down typing this message!
Are you have some special Craig time whilst sat down?

There is an adapter that has about 6inches of cable between the two plugs. It's what I use in my car (same issue, case restricts using the block adapter)

If Apple annouce a 4" version next year I'll swap.
Tbh, they could keep the screen size at 4.7" while making the phone not much bigger than the iPhone 5(S).
The Z3 compact is a good example of this at 4.6":

In short: they don't have to decrease the screen size to decrease the phone size.
The 6+ is probably the biggest 5.5" phone out there as well.

i had to trim the adapter of my belkin lightning cable with a craft knife to get it to fit through the case i bought too...

Apple could easily cut down the size of the phone whilst retaining the screen size by removing, resizing or reshaping the round "home" button, however as that button is an iPhone design feature and has been since the original iPhone I can't see them changing it.

It's not so much the total size of the phone that bothers me, it's the size of the screen.

not sure it would have been easy as such once they've done some of the design work, although you might ask why some competitive handsets can have a similar sized screen in a smaller overall device. I think they do put a lot of effort into minimising the overall dimensions, so i can only imagine there are good reasons why it's bigger... hmm

The home button size, because of touch ID does make sense.

The top bezel is symmetrical, I would assume that's mainly for aesthetic reasons?
Would be nice if they could use that space then to incorporate a front facing speaker (Like HTC?).

The lightning plug on that adapter has a larger body than the lightning plug on the charging cable, so it might still not fit.

Don't forget battery size - a bigger phone can have a bigger battery with more capacity and consumers like that. Personally though I'd be happy to have a smaller iphone 6 with less battery capacity, but judging by the size of phones on the market, I'm probably in a minority.

I like to be able to use the phone one handed and reach all areas of the screen.

Sharp do some phones with pretty much no bezel on 3 sides, which look really good, but use a totally different type of LCD panel.

Thanks, maybe I'll see if I can try it in store, there is a cut out around the connector, and I'd have though that Apple included minimum clearances in their specs for case manufacutrers. A comment earlier in the tread made me check my Belkin lead, which has a bigger connector, but fortunately that is OK.

The smaller screen size is what you need if you want to use these things one handed though.

Fine shrinking all the other bits, but if your thumb can't get all over the screen easily then it's a two handed device.

My old 3GS was great for just using with one hand... my new Lumia 630 is a very marginal one handed device and almost always needs me to use a hand to hold and another to just use a finger to actually use it.

I'd be up for something 3GS sized from Apple and I'd buy it tomorrow. Possibly even something a tiny bit smaller.

Ok, but thinner overall bezels and thus a smaller overall size would help, wouldn't they? confused

Anyway, I think I saw something about the phone you're talking about, it's the Sharp Aquos Crystal I think. Exactly the size of the 6 but with a 5" display instead of 4.7". Looks ace, but overall a mediocre phone was the conclusion I thought. Also a budget device.

I agree that it would help, but for me a 4" screen is the sweet spot.
