Will I get done?

Got zapped at the weekend by a traffic cop in a layby by the side of the A3. I was doing 85ish, he had a handheld device he was pointing down the road as he lent on his car door frame, but I wasn''t stopped later down the road or anything - in fact there were no other cop cars down the road at all that I could see. Question is, if he was planning to do me, would he have had to chase after me, or might his handheld device have an inbuilt camera, or have I got away with it? It is most likely a laser or possibly radar.On its own he would usually stop you and report you there and then, it is possible to send an NIP and do it by post but not the norm. Laser/video units look pretty much the same as a Laser unit but they have a large video camera lens next to the sight, in addition they need to be tripod mounted and connected to a recorder and printer.
