Chassis Number
Discussion
Keith,
Mine was engraved on the back of the plate that gets sandwiched between the clutch and brake master cylinders and the bulkhead. Whether that's the norm, or just something Colin Blower did on his cars I don't know, but I vaguely remember asking Colin about the details on the back and he didn't know what all the initials stood for. So, I assume it was done at the factory. I believe the convention was RA####**, where # = number and * = letter, but I'm happy to accept I'm wrong if anyone knows any better. Definitely John Reid is the man who will know what number your car has, if anyone does.

The chassis no on my purple car is RA9712
RA = Racing
97 = Year of Build
12 = 12th car that year.
As well as the number located on back of the clutch/brake master cyl plate (if its there) , it could also be stamped somewhwere on the lateral chassis tube in front of the engine - but not always.
"Road" Challenge cars will have other numbers of course
