so thoughts on it from watching top gear? I rather like the colour scheme they chose for this one though it may be a marmite colour. Other than that seemed to be pretty much what I expected from it - and yes in the wet it isnt the best
It looked good on lasts nights TG.Edited by Andy Bell on Monday 24th February 14:34
Still the press demo car with the SPA type gauges though, I wonder if they will build another press car with the new style clocks as per the one from my OP which is now sold.

I don't understand what was wrong with the Stack dash layout in the first place?
I have had three Caterham's fitted with the stack dash, and it just seems to suit the race bred flavour of the R series cars.
I had a very good look at the blue 620r on the Caterham stand at Autosports at the weekend.
The three round gauges consist of the central rev counter, a fuel gauge and an oil pressure gauge.
I spent some time asking questions of the guys on the stand about the reasoning behind these gauges,,but they did not seem to know much about them though!
I asked why there was no oil temp gauge or shift lights? I explained that the first thing I do with my R500 when I go on a track day is scroll the display to the screen that shows oil pressure, oil temp and and water temp, then I use the Aces shift lights to let me know when to change gear.
I explained that I felt that was really needed on such a track oriented car.
The response was frankly laughable, " well we have had feedback from existing users that they don't like the stack dash, and no one uses the oil temp display, and there is no need for shift lights on the R620, as it accelerates so fast you would not have time to see them!"
At that point I walked away from the Caterham stand and did not return!
100% agree with you and other posters who mention the Stack Dash I have had three Caterham's fitted with the stack dash, and it just seems to suit the race bred flavour of the R series cars.

Slightly off Topic, but if ever there was a new Stack Dash that should be fitted as Standard to the 620R, then this is it!!:-
Strangely despite being announced in 2013, its still not available.
It is however in the Demon Tweeks catalogue , but not on line?

to be fair, I was so slow because it was -1C and greasier than an MP being asked about their expenses! Took 4 full laps to get any temperature in the tyres....so have been quizzing DCL on tyre warming techniques https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detai...

It's difficult to get the ZZRs working in those conditions, but when the warmer weather gets here you'll have fun. But ultimately I suspect it'll require either new rubber, or patience if you stay with the ZZR. If you want confidence straight out of the pitlane, it'll be a softer compound. What I did notice was how much stiffer it looks compared to my car. But it all looks and sounds very smooth - not even breaking sweat. Great car - Caterham have certainly upped their game with this one

Still not sure I would want to be taking my new 620r around there with snow on the ground!
Glad you had a good outing too!
Not been to knockhill for almost 10 years, really want to go back someday soon!

Yes I noticed that too, I can't recall if they were fitted to the Maroon car when it was the press press car!
Actually looking back at the press photos of that car when it was first rolled out, it had the other style Spa gauges in too.Looking at the video, it looks like they changed the entire dash to the newer style one, with the two large dials on the drivers side and the three smaller ones on the passenger side!
A much better look in my opinion!
I assume it has shift lights built into the Rev counter on the new style gauges too?
