Nice, but the van is the one I'd want.

Today I want something with more rear seat room. How comfortable do you think 3 adults would be in the back of an old 7 series?

I want this one. Partly because of who is selling it. smile

I like how the seatbelt buckles are not in the middle of the rear seat. it helps to avoid that nuisance of the middle seat passenger sitting on 3 seatbelt buckles.

Uncanny - I've just got back from viewing this:

One owner from new, low miles, decent spec etc etc. Vendor said it was a good car with no faults on the phone.

Shame it's fked.

Strange, I'd avoid that one because of who's selling it.

hehe

I'd avoid it because Noah PX'd it for the ark.

That and because the vendor offered me £1,200 for my similarly minty and FBMWSH E32 750i SWB with 67k miles on it. I politely declined to accept his gracious offer and sold it for £3,800 (having paid £2,400 for it myself - and admittedly spent £650 on removing a couple of bork gremlins) a few weeks later.

At £6k it's reaching beyond the stars for what it is. I'd imagine th ephone might start ringing if it were up at around £4k. I'd be inclined at that point myself, were it not a wrong wheelbase.

Saw both in convoy on the A1 yesterday.

It's a shame as he does have a rather minty looking Funf for sale:

Plus an E30 that's a dead ringer for my first car:

There's every possibility they're great. But he's prone to exaggeration ("rust free" means "rusty arches", for example) and he invites you into the back of an old Transit camper to do the paperwork... which is odd.

That, and he makes up the history of the cars as he goes along. The 528i that I did up, that he was selling on, had a wonderful history. Just a shame none of it was true.

The wheels would have to go or become less gold though.

I'd spotted that old thing as well! Was tempted, what's up with the old thing? old thing!

Driver's seat doesn't move fore and aft, air con doesn't work, instrument cluster doesn't work, electric aerial doesn't work, brake lights don't work, driver's seat back is twisted, the brakes are binding, the body has rust, the bumpers are a bit shagged and it's on TRXs.

This on a car that was described to me on Friday as everything working and just two small blemishes on the body.

Shame, because it could've been a nice old bus. One owner from new, and has done 200 miles between the last 5 MOTs.

Which is why it's electrically fked and likely has a fuel tank made of Emmental too.

It's certainly done it no favours.

In other news, I put the M5 into the local BMW dealer yesterday to get an inspection done for the prospective new owner, and to sort a couple of little things while it's there. Apropos of nothing, they offered to halve the labour rate to £75/hr inc VAT, which was nice. Bet they don't offer that when I put the X5 in next.

Seventy give quid? HALF price? Fuh-king-hell.

Out of idle curiosity, what are Porsche main dealer hourly rates?
