it's sad to see something that was once so wonderful reduced to a pile of rust.
Looking at that engine bay, and the big chunks of rust falling off the back of the car (I assume that's what it is under the back picture of the car), it just screams money-pit!
But you would love to restore it to its former glory, wouldn't you...
Its a shame but you can literally hear that dissolving...Looking at that engine bay, and the big chunks of rust falling off the back of the car (I assume that's what it is under the back picture of the car), it just screams money-pit!

Lovely find. That's just perfect and the closer you look the nicer it is.Deposit taken - a nice slice of 80s retro for sunny Sundays with a six cylinder soundtrack

Non car related.....o/t.....type post;
I had a 3 hour train journey today (Newport -> Nottingham) and my word what a pleasurable experience. Now I know a Saturday morning without Londinium makes it a lot easier but all three trains were on time, my reserved window seat and table was just that and I even got free refreshments. Spread out in the carriage with my own table, power socket etc then the journey whistled by with one of Stephen Fry's books at hand and ipod to soothe the 'click-clackety-clack' of the tracks I bloody loved it.
Oh dear.

There are 2 London bound Pendolinos 7 minutes apart out of my local station.
Go first class and you can eat your free full English before Stoke. Then hop off at Stoke, jump onto the one 7 minutes behind and you're served another free full English upon taking your seat. And then somehow get to Euston 10 minutes earlier that the first

This with some period tweaks could be a good little fun project to enhance along the way;
£4995.00

Half cage
Period buckets
Rorty exhaust
Tweaked suspension/brakes
Mildly hotted up engine
etc

Have you driv' one?The gearbox is horrible, even once mated to a v8.
I can see the appeal of an m50 donkied one

That doesn't really appeal to me. It looks unmolested, but of little interest...Also:

My little brother is picking this up today, as a summer weekend toy.
Perhaps toppy, but pretty hard to find another, I'd have thought.

The two owners of a local garage I used to use when I lived in Dunstable both had identical Evos to that, both SMGs too with minimal mileage.Perhaps toppy, but pretty hard to find another, I'd have thought.

One of them also had a nice collection including a very fresh Lotus Cortina.
