I guess so. And so, once the "shiny new thing" excitement wears off, I suspect I'll be left rather underwhelmed.

In the end I generally come back to wanting an e90 M3 'loon.

I had an ed35 Golf (mk6) for 6 months and felt pretty underwhelmed by that. Rubbish throttle response, snatchy brakes and crappy steering feel. Whilst the R gets pretty favourable reviews, I can't help assume it'll be broadly similar.

After all the hype surrounding the M135i (I'm not doubting its amazing value in the UK, by the way) I was interested to read on a recent thread in GG about a guy having sold one - a number of people chimed in saying they had bought M135i's but were disappointed with them and/or had sold them quite quickly, having found them too boring.

You know something strange has happened in the car world when Mercedes (AMG) cars get praised for their steering feel! hehe

could make a good estate out of this: http://www.copart.co.uk/c2/homeSearch.html?_eventI...

Chap at work got it wrong exiting a roundabout. TBH I am suprised they wrote it off, its not THAT bad considering he paid £35k a month or 2 prior....

Do they still use hydraulic, rather than electric set-ups?

Might go some way to explaining it...

Anyone have any experience with XC90 V8's?

Struggling to find a decent X5 locally and the L322's are out of reach. The Volvo seems more widely available and on the face of it, a bargain. Are they reliable?
Failing that I'm off to look at an early, cheap X5 with known issues.

Amazing what they're fetching now; think i would have to hold for an Imperial Blue Cozzeh though, or a Monte edition in that Violet colour cloud9

I'll take mine in Aubergine please. On 18" Rondells, with a quad headlamp conversion. And no stupid rear wing.

And about 350bhp as a standard Cossie was an entirely whelming experience, in 1999, let alone now.
