£7.5k, £7.5 bloody k I could have bought one for in '98 or their abouts. Completely rebuilt by the guy who'd owned it since I was a nipper & used to ride over to his house and peer through the gates at it. Couldn't shift my Fiesta RS turbo for love nor money to raise the purchase price

Maybe a lesson to be learned here about where to service your ageing bmw?

More a lesson in 'buying well', ownership periods and real life running costs.

Fluid change and pad replacement costs were palatable, especially as they pick up and deliver the car.

I've called CPC for a quote on discs & pads but obviously goes to answerphone.

Even if I had wanted them to do it today, BMW don't have the parts in stock.

Just goes to show that if something is used regularly, and maintained, they don't all break as soon as the clock ticks over to 100k miles.

Be interesting to see what BMW charge.
