I remember Alan Clark waxing lyrical around the old things in his diaries, and have wanted one ever since. I guess it's possible that a quick drive would put me off, but I doubt it.

Now, you see, that......that is utterly wonderful. Alan Clark's tales on his many and varied cars are just a fantastic read aren't they. His Beetle was superb!

his diaries are great anyway, but somebody bought me a copy of the car excerpts from his diaries as a christmas present a few years ago, and that's brilliant, too.

There's an article in Octane last month (I think) where they road test his old Bentley Continental. Another lovely bit of kit.
