1275cc/5spd 'box - all it needs is a set of period seats and an original steering wheel imho;

Something like this -

I like that. I shouldn't and I don't want to, but I do.

P.s. You sure you wouldn't prefer a Mk2 Golf?

I watched the vid a few months back. Thought I might have inadvertently taken acid.

A credible student project, but it shouldn't have got as far as the internet.

Today, just to be different, I am mostly wanting this

I remember Alan Clark waxing lyrical around the old things in his diaries, and have wanted one ever since. I guess it's possible that a quick drive would put me off, but I doubt it.

Oh yeah - I quite like that Green 911 above, too.

It's lovely. Fails the funeral test as badly as anything up to a Westfield or a Viper, but it's a great shape.

But that grille / bonnet combination could never credibly shield an I4, no matter how powerful it is.

Now, you see, that......that is utterly wonderful. Alan Clark's tales on his many and varied cars are just a fantastic read aren't they. His Beetle was superb!

yes his diaries are great anyway, but somebody bought me a copy of the car excerpts from his diaries as a christmas present a few years ago, and that's brilliant, too.

There's an article in Octane last month (I think) where they road test his old Bentley Continental. Another lovely bit of kit.

Yeh I've been saving that Octane article, looking forward to reading it. I think they took it back 'home' and spoke to his wife?
