I have front and rear sensors on my Cayman GTS. Also a rear view camera. Every little helps......
There will come a time, that is actually not far away, when you will be able to sit in the back and close your eyes.

Then you wont have to worry about crashing your car because you're rubbish.

The rear bumper needed drilling, but the factory marks the correct locations. The sensors were spray painted to match (Guards Red) and all the wiring is hidden. Overall works well and looks factory fit. The sensors were made by Steelmate at the advice of 911Sport.

However, there is no interaction with the audio system at all.
My dealer removed the rear bar and we could find no location marks.

I gave up on the sensor idea and had an aftermarket camera installed today instead. The job took a couple of hours and the installer said it was straightforward. It works perfectly.

^ From my installer....

The web site to purchase the interface is advancedice.com.au and the product code is RL-PCM3-TF
Once installed, the interface is “self learning” so there is no need to have the dealer activate the PCM

They also sell a “look down” black camera however the camera is cheaper sourced from a large selection of Ebay sites.

The camera we chose required only a small screw hole to mount and could be fitted without removing the rear bumper. The quality is fine is daylight but poor in very low light. The camera itself was very cheap - I might upgrade later if I can be bothered. I wasn't keen on cutting a big hole between the numberplate lights.

Very very interesting this one.. especially the P&P feature meaning you don't obliterate PCM warranty and completely reversible..

Just need to find a camera which doesnt need any drilling and could "supplement" / replace the plate lights and we are done..

"This Plug and Play interface is the perfect product to integrate an aftermarket reverse camera into a Porsche with Factory installed PCM3.1 Navigation and audio system. The image of the reverse camera will be displayed on the PCM 3.1 screen when reverse gear is engaged and is the ultimate add on to your vehicle to protect it from costly bumps and scratches".

I imagine the lines which appear on the pic you posted do not "turn" as per factory system ? But guess should not really be an issue smile

As you've guessed, the lines in the aftermarket camera don't turn. Nevertheless, I'm grateful for the camera every time I drove the car.
