There are two ways of looking at this. It could be said that for all the domination of the last two decades, at the end of this season Man utd could be only one league win ahead of Liverpool and two European Cups behind.
What's your point? Liverpool dominated the 70s and 80s much like United did the past 20 years. Bradgate said:
Moyes’ situation has strong parallels with Steve McClaren’s short, unhappy spell as England manager.
Both men were appointed ahead of better qualified candidates. Both appeared to be well out of their depth and struggled badly in their new roles from the outset. Both failed to achieve the minimum level of success acceptable to their employer (McClaren failed to qualify for Euro 2008, Moyes failed to qualify for the Champions League) and both were sacked immediately after this failure.
I hope Moyes manages to re-build his career and reputation in the way McClaren has.
Does that mean that Moyes is going to learn Dutch a la Maclaren then? Both men were appointed ahead of better qualified candidates. Charlton didn't approve of Jose's style, off the pitch rather than on it. He still has significant influence.

Makes a mockery of SAF's leaving speech.
It does and it doesn't, SAF speech was for the fans and I don't think there is an argument that the matchgoing fans despite their serious misgivings gave it all they could with regard to supporting the team. Agree on the rest though
If we win the CL this season (I don't think we will) then Mourinho will be up for grabs. That's what evaded him first time round at Chelsea and once he wins it he'll be on the lookout for a move to a bigger club.
He's gone from Inter to Real Madrid and then back to Chelsea. Even as a Chelsea fan I can see that's a big step down. We're no Real Madrid in terms of size of club or prestige.
I'd hate to see Mourinho at OT. Because, like him or loathe him, he's the best manager in the world and I don't want you to be successful.

Exactly. Hence my hmmm re Maureen. Just think back to the Real games we played and how placatory and complimentary Maureen was of United.....
Would explain a lot, especially his actions in his last season at Realjammy_basturd said:
Why is he the best manager in the world?
Name someone better? Jose has been a success everywhere he's been whilst he's been a "recognised" manager, both Euro cups with Porto, lots of domestic success with Chelsea, Treble with Inter and at Real he set a new points and goals scored La Liga records despite being in the same league as a Pep managed BarcelonaGassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
