A slice of Monday night football for our boys this weekend. Quite pleased to get the extra couple of days post the international break, plus a bit of Gary Nevs analysis on the game will be interesting.

The injury list appears to be shortening and Carrick is close for the first time this season and I think LVGs honeymoon period will come to an end over the next 3 games. Bad results against City and Chelsea will see him under pressure in the media but it's West Brom first. A win on Monday will be three on the bounce for the first time in what feels like ages but was last December!

Obviously no Rooney again but Falcao and RVP were in scoring form while away looking forward to another interesting weekend.
We do need to be battering West Brom but does anyone have such high expectations of LVG against Chelsea & City? If we get 2 points out of those games that would be a result with the state of our defence! It wouldn't surprise if we played fairly well & got nothing thanks to a couple of defensive errors.

As long as we don't lie down and roll over like last season, against City particularly it'll go down as progress for me!

As you say the defence will be the issue but with Dave the Save in top form who knows! Would take 2 points now if offered though!

Agreed, I think LVG is only going to come under pressure if 4th is looking like a long shot by Xmas (though God knows who they would replace him with!)

If United are off the pace for fourth at Xmas, it's the Glazer's piggy bank that will be under pressure.

Predictions for Monday?
I'll start with 2-2.

We should have our 1st choice defence for the first time this season, Ander declared himself OK to play (Loving this kids commitment BTW) and of course ADM and Falcao. 4-1 for me.

Team for tonight, assume Januzaj will play off RvP?

Quite like the look of that though would have preferred Falcao to RVP meself...

Think he's got a bit too much loyalty to RVP. He's not been good at all this season and after Falcao scoring last match and looking a far bigger threat i'd pick him all day long!

Jet lag for Falcao plus he'll be right up for Chelsea!

LVG coy on formation tonight

I can only hope but that looks like our strongest back line?

Possibly, given a few games together to get an understanding but as the next 2 are City and Chelsea it'll be a tough start!

Great MNF. Looking forward to seeing us play again tonight. Hopefully got some more solidity at the back tonight.

Anyone else strangely nervous?

So many false starts over the last year I want a solid performance tonight ideally avoiding 10 minutes of panic at the death.

Much room for improvement. RVP not having a good game again.
