Realistically? Why not, is it skill level, strength, speed. I'm not talking Premier league but for a first or second division outfit. Will there ever come a day?

I think one or two could get into the united team at present.. Can't be any worse than Cleverly or Jones.

A serious answer with justification would be appreciated. Do the rules allow it?

What justification do you want?

They aren't as fast or strong. Can't jump as high...are generally shorter.

No idea about the rules. Never needed to be tested.

would the best female player be able to play in a 3rd division side if she was better than the guys (at that level) ?

Use the one for the gays? Re the OP, never say never but they'd have to be freaks ie very manly to compete.

I don't think you appreciate just how poor the standard of women's football is if you compare it directly with the men's game

If England ladies played a side from the Conference North, they would get absolutely pummeled. Or another example, if you took a league 2 player and stuck him in the England side at the next women's world cup, he'd probably single handedly win them the tournament

I agree that the levels of speed and strength are lacking. But there is plenty of skill.

In most olympic sports how far are women behind? 20 per cent? That's a long way behind...

Yes, if they are good enough why not? I pity the first woman who does that, given the likely abuse she will suffer.

When Jay Bothroyd played for Udinese, I'm sure the Iraqi(?) owner was trying to arrange to have a female player on the books.

It depends on the event and I'm not talking necessarily Olympic level. Take a top woman player, coud she hold herwn for Rotherham or Northampton. Clearly not Manchester City or Arsenal but how far down the league would you need to go.

Like I said...to an U16 boys team at a pro club.

In the league pyramid you'd be down a long way. I would say even Sunday leagues they'd struggle.
