Having got serious withdrawl symptoms of only one track day since Croft..
Taking the Ren 5 Turbo out for last of the year hoon on Sat 11th at Elvington, anyone on here going??

Elvington is one of the 'Airfield' type tracks isn't it? I've heard these can be quite hard on the tyres - anyone confirm/refute? Unlike Bob my tyres should be good for another 6K - unless wrecked by trackday, of course
TVRs round a track in the rain may be a bit

I've done Elvington once. Yes it's agressive on tyres and you need to have more caution because the grassed areas are not level. That said the tarmac areas are much wider than at Croft so there are only a couple of places where where grass comes into play. The track they normally lay out is small and twisty so this is more about cornering and not high speeds.

If it's raining, it'll be like a skid pan day. Great fun!

Shame they can't use just one of the 2 mile straights so we can have a little comparison Darren. As it is, yours will be faster round the twisties with the uprated springs/shocks.

LOL went a couple of years ago to a TVR day there, all I can say is that the RAC salesman should have moved from outside Birchwood Services and parked half way down the main straight :-D
Done quite a few days with Bookatrack and Javelin at Elvington, always great fun due to no arnco to worry about. Can be a tyre eater if it's dry, depends how much fun you have of course!

Take the Hull A1079 turnoff on the A64 York ring road.
As you exit the roundabout, turn almost immediately right (Elvington/Howden road).
Follow the road, and the airfield is a couple of miles along on the righthand side (Yorkshire Air Museum Sign).
Hmm - may go too.
