I would like to buy a new Sat Nav, but having been a TomTom fan for some years it seems their new models have had a very poor press. Does this model Garmin provide a better solution and will it accept ITN files? Any advice would be appreciated.

I have a TomTom 1005 and have nothing but praise for it, I have also recommended it to three other people who have also bought one and they all still talk to me.

Thanks Birma, I agree as that is the TomTom I currently have too. I really wanted to update, but it seems the new TomTom GO 6000 is a retrograde step? That's why I wondered about the Garmin equivalent?

Yes it does appear that the new models aren't up to much plus there is TomToms legendary customer service so I think I'll still have my 1005 for another 5 years like I did with the 520 Live, can't comment on Garmin though.
