I have purchased a 30 pin hdmi cable to connect the ipad 3 to the tv, but when I try to watch netflix I get the following message on the ipad 3 screen:

Cannot play video, the connected display is not supported.

Is there a fix for this problem.

Can you chromecast it? I have 2 which I use for YouTube HBO and Plex media server.

Very easy to use and you wouldn't be tethered to your TV

Changed the cable and played around a bit with the following result.

If I start something on netflix and when it is showing on the ipad I connect the cable to the Ipad it displays on the tv and lasts for about 20 seconds then I lose the picture on the tv but still have the sound and sometimes I lose sound and picture.

An Apple TV is a good bit of kit, allows Airplay Mirroring. However, as discussed above, some programmes/content cannot be Airplay'd due to copyright reason.

Epom, I think sky go can be watched on the IPad etc as soon as you connect to a bigger screen / TV it disables it!

only way round is sky's own little box, but that supports only a few things on it..

nothing I know of will do everything, who ever brings one out will be a millionaire!! ha ha!

Sky have disabled the watching of sky go on TV, they would rather you pay for multi room.

You can do it from an Xbox 360.

Does look good this, but still blocks sky I think... Also does it have issues with some routers as well?
