After a nightmare of a time just to buy a cv joint, and my car now having pretty much broken down (still goes, but had to limp home the last 2 miles while listening to both a loud reverberating noise and a nasty clunking sound)...I have decided enough is enough and I am going to part company with it.
(Every time I have had to buy parts it has been a complete pain!...Sorry...not bemoaning my poor lot, but it has been a frustrating experience).
Also I need to say a big thank you to the really UNHELPFUL Japanese import parts specialist who proved to be about as "expert" and helpful as a bowl of custard is for skydiving! They came recommended by several different (and unconnected) people, but my experience with them was not good (putting it mildly!).
Such a shame as the stb is such a fun car! I will miss it. I liked it because it was a bit of a "sleeper", and just an all round nice car to drive.

Would have thought most of the running gear would be the same as UK forester no?
There are a couple of guys on the Europe section of subaruforester.org who are very good on part numbers
