Hi,

From what I can remember I can either have the car towed to an MOT station or I can insure it for the day and just drive it to a pre booked MOT. No tax, but this shouldn't be an issue.

The car in question is nothing special, but is a mint condition MK2 Mondeo that I plan to give to a friend to help them out. I know that it was fine when it passed last time, which was three years ago. However the vehicle has moved under it's own steam every few months and turned around on a double driveway. All features have been used and still work and it was brought up to temperature. So will need an oil and filter change and four tyres.

Anything that I can look for, or anything that might let it down through the MOT? I'm willing to gamble the test fee, but if it's a long list it won't be worth it.

Thanks.

Just remember to give the MOT Place the reg number and ask them to write it down in the diary with the appointment

Just in case you get stopped at least the MOT place can confirm on the phone the car is booked in

If you tow it it needs insurance anyway. Unless you mean towing on a trailer so no wheels are on the floor.
