I had honestly forgotten they even existed ... ! A mate's girlfriend had a yellow 12 in the early 80s ... The staff car we used to call it. To see that 77/78 6 out and about is incredible. The 4 and 5 probably the most numerous nowadays.
List....4,5,6,8,9,10,11,12,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,25,30.Where are they all ?
At a place I was working in the 80s, the lady who ran thee print room would buttonhole men she felt were interested in cars and tell them her husband's car was, "Ooh, it's like a Rrrrrrolls Rrrrroyce." She said it often.
It turned out to be a Renault 12.
I don't know if she had any experience of Rolls Royce but she genuinely felt she was making a reasonable comparison.

TBH all the old numbered Renaults have largely disappeared.
The 4 and 5 probably the most numerous nowadays.

Memory is coming back now, my uncle had a white Renault 10, think it was about G reg ... And my mate's dad had a succession of Renault 16s, I couldn't tell you the last time I saw one on the road ... We're talking again early 80s ... R16s were everywhere ...The 4 and 5 probably the most numerous nowadays.

Giardiniera is the name Fiat gave it.
Hope I spelt that right.
I remember the Alfa Sud estate was called the giardinetta but I didn't know FIAT used the same sort of name. Not surprising I s'pose.Hope I spelt that right.

Turns out that Fiat used Giardinetta too for a slightly different version.
"Giardinetta": Sounds stylish doesn't it?In English they would be called the FIAT or Alfa Romeo: "Carryall"
Not quite as stylish somehow!
