What a way to get to work!
I got myself some new gloves today. I have some Spidi STRs that are nice, but on longer rides the knuckle protection on the little finger of the left hand presses a bit and gives me a sore finger - what a fanny I am, I know! They are great gloves but I've loved the look of Furygan's gloves since I first saw them, so I found myself looking at some today. It was a toss up between the Furygans and some Knox Handroids, and as cool as the Knox gloves are, I worried about the boa lacing mechanism breaking, and the Furygans just edged it on comfort. So I took the plunge, paid £90 for the pair of Furygan AFS-18s. These have some really cool design features, like the hard plaques on the heels of the hands, the little finger armour is on the side of the finger rather than the top, the wrist armour panel is really substantial (and has a panther on it). The venting on the top of the hand has mesh grille underneath it - these aren't exactly wet or cold weather gloves, as that will leak like a sieve!
Does the venting work well, or is it a bit of a gimmick? I can imagine it just cools the back of your hand? I get hot hands, and with gloves with perforations initially I can feel a breeze when I get them, but after a while I can't really notice any effect.I got myself some new gloves today. I've not ridden in the Furygans yet, but I imagine they'll be quite effective. There is a picture on this page that shows quite how big the ducting is for the ventilation:http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/c...
My Spidis have mesh in the sides of the fingers, they're not really all that well insulated as they're just a summer glove, and on a cold day when I change gear the action of moving my hand on the clutch makes cold air blast through the mesh and freezes my hands. Brrr!

I really liked them but when I tried them on the little finger was far too tight for me so I ended up with the Alpinestars GP plus as they fitted me much betterI got myself some new gloves today. I tried some of those on too, really nice but I preferred the feel of the Furygans. At this level I think the quality is pretty much on par and you pick what feels the best. I also tried some top line Spidis and the RST Tractec gloves which were the cheapest by a good margin and also nice. I'm a tart for a nice pair of gloves. Some pics of the SRAD wearing some new scratches since low siding it like a moron, and a new Scorpion can, which sounds ace! I tried to go out for a bit of a ride tonight but every decent road I turned to seemed to have a diversion on it, so I ended up trundling about, taking a few photos then going home, not the best ride I've ever had. The closest I came to a decent corner was a roundabout, and even then I couldn't go too mad as I'm still scrubbing in the new rear which I had fitted the weekend before last.
The new Furygan gloves performed brilliantly too, very soft and luxurious feeling, and nice and secure without feeling constrictive. Loads of grip and feel through the rough textured palm and inner finger surfaces, the vents on the back of the hands are very effective and angled into the wind correctly, though at my normal riding position they don't get that much airflow, so they are more use when used actively, pointing the vents into the airflow to get cooling when needed, than passively cooling all the time. The large wrist protection and cuff were very effective at keeping the air from going up my sleeves, and while I didn't get to move around on the bike a whole lot tonight they feel like they'll be very secure. My Spidi STR-2s tend to come away from my sleeve when moving about and it lets the air up my arm, a minor inconvenience but one I don't think I'll suffer with these Furygans. These are amazing gloves.

My Spidi Carbo 3 gloves after 1 low side today at Donington. Will not be getting another pair of these after how easily the palm has worn out. Also took a fairly large chunk out of my hand
So what are peoples recommendations for the best race/track gloves? Budget of £200 tops.
I crashed at around 100 mph with an older pair of these. So what are peoples recommendations for the best race/track gloves? Budget of £200 tops.

Was the low side because of the new rubber :-(The new Furygan gloves performed brilliantly too, very soft and luxurious feeling, and nice and secure without feeling constrictive. No, the low side caused the need for new rubber. Roadside barrier stopped my bike falling off a hill, as the bike skidded into the barrier and came to an abrupt halt, the wheel took a canny ding on the rim and the tyre went flat. Rode the 20 miles home on a completely flat tyre, which is now sitting in my garage as a reminder - get the right gear, drop the inside shoulder and look to exit! How long does it take to scrub in a new tyre? Some sources I've read say as little as 10-15 miles, others say 100-150. I've done about 50 but I'm afraid to put too much faith in yet, I've never had to bed a new bike tyre in so this is new to me.

Tbh I was going to ask the same question soon when I get some fitted. At least your ok that's the main thing.
Scrubbed tyres in twice. Pirelli Diablo Corsas on a KTM Duke 690 that felt very slippery for about 60 miles, though it was damp too. Pirelli Angel tyres on GSX-R I didn't notice anything, and was in light rain at one point. I just took it easy and only leaned at recoverable speeds until I was sure.
