Got to do something pretty special at the weekend. Drove my uni's forula student car at silverstone against 94 other teams.

Not hugely bikey related, other than they all use bike engines. But it's you lot I know, not the car masses on here, so I'm posting it here.
Looks very cool!
What motor do you run??
A Yamaha genesis 2 cylinder snowmobile engine with Garrett turbo charger. Has to run a 20mm restrictor, but churns out 80bhp at the flywheel.
Coupled to CVT (continually varying transmission) allowing u to run at peak power all the time.
Wow, thats an interesting combo! is it mandated or do you have choices? Can't imagine Snowmobile engines are easy to come by in the UK!! And why the turbo if only to run a restrictor?? What does the engine produce without turbo or restrictor in it's natural state?
Indeed, fascinating! Our car just had a good old CBR600 engine back in 2008. Great to see some innovation in FSAE smile

Are you guys going to Hockenheim?

Wheelie school! Expensive, but great fun thrashing someone else's bike.

Couple from this week's hot rod meet at Chipping Sodbury...
Can't say that I liked this but it was beautifully done and immaculately prepared. Apparently owned by the frontman of an AC/DC tribute band, all the murals were AC/DC themed...

This, on the other hand, I could see myself enjoying immensely. Unusual to see a big twin in such a set up...

Sutton & Marsden Café Racer with a 1600cc S&S engine and Ducati suspension.

It's a product of Keynsham (spelled K E Y N S H A M smile)

I reckon it would look better with a twin shock rear end.

It's a nice bike, his first half decent outing on the thing this year really has had a mare with the carbs/fuel pump. The Z1000 in the background on first pic is my other mates.

Took the ZX9 for an MOT today (passed) and there was some odd looking white sports bike in there also getting one. It had tracked tyres (proper blistered) an odd solid rear sprocket and an strange underhang thingy.

I only realised was it was as it was silently ridden away!

It was an ex TT electric bike. I've fine a search but not found it. It had some writing in the front Zelephonics? Or something.

Anyway. It was a bit st being electric an all.

Gareth - thanks for the info, I'd presumed it was home built.
