Met up with my mate, Paul, today with his new Tenere! You couldn't have 2 more different bikes out for a ride out!

It was timed nicely as I pulled up at the bike shop to buy some rear pads, so rude not to take a pic. I'm hoping in another 6k I can sell it as 'delivery mileage only' laugh

Nice! What is it? Are you going to keep it going until it dies?

I'm doing a countdown from 90k hehe it has involved stopping in daft places to not miss a pic already.

^^ What he said.
I'll keep it forever as I can't think of anything that'll do the same job as a daily as well, especially because after 98lb/ft of torque everything else feels gutless at low revs. Besides, it's dead comfy, rides as well as ever & cheap to run. IIRC total repairs that aren't service bits so far are TPS, fuel filter and Givi rack as the first one rotted away after six years.

Nope, not unless you mean on sunday afternoon after everyone else had gone. We fell out with the 'org' years ago & don't attend anything they do. It is however one of our local pubs so we do go there for a pint.

How much effort has it required to keep it going this long? No shockers?

4k services (book is something daft like 3,750 so I picked an easy number).
Three chain & sprocket sets with a sprocket carrier bearing every time.
Endless tyres & brake pads.
Front discs after I warped them due to seized callipers.
Fork seals, twice as the pattern parts were st & lasted a week.
New seat after the foam collapsed.
Fuel filter because it blocked & limited the bike to 50-55mph.
TPS, broke.
Oil cooler replaced when the original cracked (normal fault on these around 50k).
Two sets of steering bearings, last done about 88k.
Quite a few levers from throwing it on the floor.

That's about it really, it just tends to work & work.

There's nothing on there that's too bad, nice.
