Still as young. Mirrors have got creases in them now I've noticed.

Near Alnwick.

Alnwick Moor?
Yes I think so, although I have just had to look up Alnwick Moor, so please excuse my ignorance. It was eastbound on the B6341, looking north west, after the A697 but before going over the tops (on to the very long straight) into Alnwick.

I hear you hearing me! smile Did the Ring for a dozen years so understand circuit knowledge and all the other factors mentioned (most of which could be applied to TT as well btw). I just think that publicity vs outlay would be too tempting not to loan him a bike.

I keep thinking of BMW. No point entering £50m a year war in MotoGP where Yamaha and Honda already raising thr bar too high. Failed at WSB despite an inappropriate budget for that class. BSB is fairly country specific obviously. TT translates across the Superbike riding world and Dunlop's win would have been pocket change. The Ring thing wouldn't quite be the same but has awesome crossover potential with car world (who might want a bike etc) and would barely register on expenses of some their execs.
smile Ha, I never knew! This is my 12th year here, but only my 1st on the bike... that being said, I'm not convinced Ring drivers are ever keen to ride. Most drivers show respect but ironically disdain for the bikers at the same time who 'ruin' a fast lap... You're right that the marginal cost to BMW is negligible. Mind you... Even Sabine doesn't get a free ride and she has heck of alot more marketability than a fast English bloke on an old R1...

Anyway, here are a couple you'd appreciate taken just today. Finally, it was dry!
Pflanzgarten

and entering Schwalbenschwanz

And earlier today, heading into the fog on the B500 between Baden-Baden and Freudenstadt.

I've just come doon from the Isle of Skye,
I’m no very big and I'm awful shy,
And the lassies shout when I go by,
"Disco where’s your reg numbers."

Let the wind blow high, let the wind blow low,
Through the streets in my R1 I'll go,
And all the lassies shout hello
"Disco where's your reg numbers."

All thumbs up at Brunnchen

Stopped by FC-Moto.de on the way back... I think their online store is better than the store itself!

The M25 J7 doesn't quite offer the same thrills...

No oics today but my bike felt fking great coming to work today and I made a decent time despite headwinds severely limiting my top speed on the faster sections!

Haha! So that's what it looks like - I've got a massive (ie. size of a washing machine) box from them behind me (where it's been blocking the aisle for the last 3 weeks). I've found the German online retailers to be superb - them and bs-motoparts.de
