Cheers Fleegle. I'll have a bash without then. I can always buy them if I get desperate.
...Or more likely ask the local garage/engine builder to pop them out for me with an airline.
If you can't get the pistons out with the pliers then an airline won't touch them. Most airlines only operate at about 150psi, which is a fraction of the hydraulic pressure you'd see in a brake system, so if they are tight from corrosion you are much better off using the master cylinder to pump them out....Or more likely ask the local garage/engine builder to pop them out for me with an airline.
I preferred it here ...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think older petrol will lose the more volatile components, reducing the chance of pre-ignition hence potentially raising the octane rating not reducing it.
As to the additives going off, don't know, won't comment.
My 1993 Celica was standing for nearly three years with the same half full tank of petrol. It started promptly and passed it's MOT emissions test on the same batch of petrol. So, I believe that it's not a good idea to let the fuel dry out (in a carb for example), but stored in a can/tank it's probably fine for several years.

Since we cancelled our flights to Philippines (due to a typhoon) we flipped a coin as to go your side of Thailand or other and ended up in Koh Phangan.
Weather nice and warm currently but a bit cloudy with the odd downpour. Current renta scooter is on slicks which can make it a bit hairy.
