Please delete that post Tom, I'm getting depressed
I don't think they have one for Kawasakis/that bolt spacing anyway so I wouldn't be too disheartened.

I can't picture the setup at having never even removed a filler cap, but I can't help but think the o-rings serve more of a purpose than that?

That's a bit mental really. Projection components do one for £25 that looks the same but doesn't say Harris on.
I'm going to buy that.

I currently have a £10 ebay job and it's erm, not great. I had to fish the rubber O-ring out of the tank just before winter.

It also turned up with chavvy "CBR [innit blud]" etched into the monkey metal.

I thought that initially but the neck of the filler cap has a large seal that joins the neck of the tank so I don't think there is anywhere else that requires an airtight seal.

I could be wrong (probably).

Picked up my new toy today, been hankering after one since they came out, finally decided "life's too short" etc.

The GSXR was fun in France last summer but seeing as most of my riding group are now on KTMs or Adv bikes I ended up making it do things it didn't want to do (ie: go slow and ride up endless hairpins in the mountains). I've not sold the GSXR though, I'll just keep that for silly afternoons' playtime..

I have been meeting to post up some pictures for a while, but simply haven't had the time. I moved out to California just under 1 year ago with my wife and two kids. I was gutted to have left my fantastic Triumph Explorer 1200, but its in good hands with a friend of mine (an American who moved to the UK). Well I lasted 10 months without a bike here in the USA and finally succumbed. I didnt want to spent too much because things are different here, so I splashed out just over $2,000 on a Triumph Trophy 900. Its a little rough and could do with the carbs getting cleaned and setup right, but its green, British and a triple.

Anyway, already done one 4 day tour with a couple of friends back at the start of December. We rented a few BMW's from San Francisco and rode them down Pacific Coast Highway to Morro Bay, across round Bakersfield and then over to Yucca Valley and through Joshua Tree National park. Then turned up to go through the Nevada deserts and into Vegas. Took a few pictures that I thought I would share.

Pick up at Eagle Rider near SF airport - the guy that runs it is great and he was really patient. Recommended if expensive rental place. I had an F800GT and the other two guys had a K1300 (totally mentally quick!) and a water cooled R1200GS. Have to say that the GS ran rings around the F and K! Couldnt believe how planted and fast it was around the corners! And quick...

Obligatory picture of PCH - it is a nice road, but can be busy and most of it is no overtaking these days! Unfortunately we got the timing wrong and we had to ride some of the really winding roads at dusk. Took a lot of concentration and didnt enjoy that part. But it levels out and gets a lot easier. Worryingly, I have a California license and can't afford to lose it while my co-riders were on UK licenses, so crossing a double yellow was a little easier....

Since were going through the Mojave desert, it seems sensible to stop at the Space Port! Unfortunately, there wasn't much activity due to the recent tragic crash.

And we tripped over a small part of Route 66 after going across the desert. It was a fantastic ride and we picked out some great winding roads. Some of the flat sections (Bakersfield) were dull, but we did manage to find some empty and great roads! Couldnt believe how good they could be.

I can't wait to get out on my own bike more now. Joined up with a local group and hope to meet up with some new riders and get out more.

I did the buel day there, exactly the same st, a fat wker who couldn't ride himself showing you how to sit on a bike. Although the day was livened up when my mate put a brand new buel into the scenery literally destroying every panel and component.

Hoping to do something similar this year for my 50th, but want to take in some wine country at the same time. Any advice greatly appreciated.

I was resigned to getting home ASAP so I just let the support car satnav take us the obvious A road routes, which were 90% roadworks and congestion, and 10% mud! Horrible ride but the bike coped well. I've got a mate in Leics so I'll be back that way in warmer weather and he can show me the more interesting stuff. I had a weekend there last year, we went over to Kings Lynn, then the coast roads..

Had a quick hour or so out today too, slightly drier roads meant I could have a bit more fun. It's so different to my Fazer and GSXR in every way, but that's the point. Can't wait to get it to southern France in July biggrin

Decided against the ducati scrambler when saw it at NEC. After two street triples I know I love them so purchased this brand new before Christmas. It's painted by 8 ball and I have done a total of 1.3 miles on it!! Put a few extras on it. Not to everyone's taste but it's just how I want it in lovely colour.
