A picture a day....biker banter (Vol 3)
Discussion
Good news, he's sent me the brake lever pin and split pin so that's one side sorted.
however, he sent me a 290 mm shifter rod, which is way too long.
I called up but he doesn't know what size should go with the 675.
does anyone have these, if so can they measure the shifter rod length on a 675.
I measured the rose joint to rose joint distance on standard as 240.
but I didn't account for these being adjustable so I don't know how much I will loose when I move these backwards, forwards or up and down. I assumed the manufacture of these would know. But they don't. fking lucky im a designer for a living. mind you it wouldn't have been the first time something hasn't fitted due to my measurements.
also without the shifter rod in place you are kinda guessing as to the position of the gear lever. you cant sit on it and go oh that's fine because its not held in place. fking pain in the arse this is.
resolved - im getting him to send up various length shifters so I can try them on then send back what I don't use or doesn't fit. Jesus wept it wasn't like this with the Chinese ones

It's not the two hours that would worry me so much as how tidily and carefully I arranged the bits and the notes and photos I would need to be able to put it all back again. That would probably take me at least a week.
Piece of piss. It's a Ducati so it's always in some state of dismantlement!!Spend long enough fixing her and you know every nut and bolt....
Might actually change the colour scheme as the frame is going black from the current red.

I fancy a matte black, powder-coated finish on a tubular frame. It would have to have some sparkly flecks in it, though. The enamelled oven tray lookSpend long enough fixing her and you know every nut and bolt....

Pic before deconstruction?

For those of you not on Faceache..the bike got a polish after 1st couple of rides this year (& the Db killers put in-just to make sure it wasn't too quiet with 'em in )
Really really like that, wasn't too keen when you first got it but the looks have really grown on me, bet it sounds amazing through those pipes too! sprinter1050 said:

Newcastle Motorcycles (Honda dealer) have one of these in at the moment. I'm not sure if it's pre-owned or ex demo, but the back tyre is fairly scorched so it looks like someone has enjoyed it. I love the looks of these, funnily enough the only detail that really jars to my eye is the exhaust pipe.Gassing Station | Biker Banter | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
