Mein Gott you sound happy with that Honda!!

Just wander down to your local Yamaha dealer, I'm sure you know where they are and they know you. From an outside point of view it's almost painful viewing! You've only got 5 to 7 years left on sports bikes = get a new R1.

Christ, it's easy & good fun spending other people's money! In the real world I've got an ancient heap and was last seen routing thru an old Clover pot full of all my dead brake pads to cure the current scraping noise! hehe
I have 2 or 3 years left. I really want to make it work, all I need is to be able to get into a riding position that I can work with, I have ridden on the road and track for many years and can't believe that its this hard to get a bike to work when you try and push it. (at my humble pace)

Ross's bike ( correct me if my assumption is wrong)has had plenty of work George , and significant replacement parts - don't be so naive ...I have ridden with him plenty and spent time in the workshop with many of the boys whilst my own (then) Rsv4 was having work ( albeit minor and seldom) however , far from trouble free I can assure you .
Sorry to burst the bubble - but this is how it is.
When I was round at his the other day, we were discussing the new RSV4 RF, and if he was going to upgrade. Decided against it as he's had nothing go wrong with the current one. Maybe when he first got it there were issues, I don't know as I didn't go on trackdays then.

I sympathize John... I had exactly the same problems with the blade after the R1 and that's only at 5ft 11. It's bloody annoying... the simple fact is unless you are a short arse the peg to bar relationship is all to cock.

I've had to raise the seat and install rear sets to get even remotely comfortable, but even so I fitted better on my R1. The bike itself is superb but spending several hundred quid and in your case several grand to get the bike right is a piss take.

This will be my first and last Honda.

My little sister has just bought a Yamaha SR125. I take back anything nice I ever said about slow 125s, though it's in remarkably good nick for 15 years old and £800.

What year blades do you both have? It won't help but mine is pretty comfortable, easily as comfortable as my old 5VY. It's a 2007 and I'm 6'2".

Fair play to you. I'm not sure I could do 25000 miles in a straight line

New wheel bearings fitted, new (old) wheels fitted with PR3/PR4s. In the spirit of the thread here's a picture of some bearings;

Oooo.

Also the bike has developed a horrible rasp. It's pissing me off.

Cheers Scott.

I was going to piss about with the saturation and do a black and white with a slightly aggressive angle but I thought, 'some things speak for themselves'.

To be honest, the placement of the bearings and the hue of the purple I think you would have ruined the original image for me.

Tesco are doing mugs for a fiver if you wanted to get that printed.

Not just a straight line. The bumpiest straight road in the (North) west. I've heard it's the biggest test of suspension there is.

I've not long finished taking mine off to.

It seems my Dad isn't satisfied with my roll cab, middle and top box full of tools in his garage, he has to come to my house and take some of the few I've got here and not tell me furiousfuriousfurious

4 bloody hours to take 2 wheels off. Time for a beer.
