Cataclean, in a diesel
Discussion
Evening. Was just wondering if anybody else has tired Cataclean in a diesel before with a DPF?
Reason I ask is I have heard good things with Cataclean for restoring injector spray pattern, fuel system and the CAT, but what about the DPF. My PD170 is fairly strong smelling on tick over, it's had the injector recall, has been serviced 5000 miles ago with all filters.
Works or snake oil?
Thanks
Luke

I give the car a good work out anyway several times a week.
Was looking for something to help clean the engine and DPF.

Hi Luke, same situation with an Octavia VRs diesel, bought and going to try tomorrow putting cataclean in. I have smelling fumes, no grey smoke tho. Evo mag reckons it was trade only and I have fingers crossed. Let me know if you think it works, I'll do likewise! Was looking for something to help clean the engine and DPF.

Oh ok. Looking online Cataclean do a DPF cleaner! DPF can cause performance problems, and are a real pain! The PD170 wasn't designed for the DPF. I have looked at Forte

If you can let me know of any improvements, performance, running, smell etc.
Thanks
Luke
Here in Ireland there are great claims for stuff called Dipetane. It's supposed to do petrol, diesel and home heating oil. I don't know if it works or if it's available on the bigger island. However a Google will bring up loads of discussion on it. Here's the maker's site: https://www.dipetane.com/
