Hi people, I'm new to this site but I have problem which I'm hoping I can shed some light, this morning as I was driving on the motorway the car was running fine and then all of a sudden it acted like it had no drive at all the engine revved up but no speed now I got home but alittle concerned as this is my first Audi it's a 07 2.0 tdi automatic, now normally if it's a manual and the engine revved up but no speed it normally the clutch but with it being an auto I haven't got a clue it happened in the semi auto system and normal drive mode if any one can shed some light I will be really greatful many thanks damien
Also I just had it scanned and it's come up as egr valve can this cause this limp home mode or drive like it did this morning as this is the first diesel I've every had
Thanks in advance

"limp home" will not cause a slipping of drive torque. (it will limit how much torque can be made by the engine)
Slipping of the transmission is two things:
1) not enough oil pressure (low oil, blocked filters, failing oil pump)
2) Electrical fault causing clutch (either in gear train or lockout clutch in Torqueconvertor) to open in error (internal wiring fault, dodgy control ecu etc
I would get the oil level and quality checked ASAP as a first easy step!
