Does the silver shadow come with air conditioning? I am considering moving to the Middle East where temperatures are very high,

I'd love to run a shadow over there as the fuel is extremely cheap and I've always loved these cars.

Only the very early ones was it an optional extra - it was standard equipment from pretty early on.

Make sure that the radiator and coolant systems are in good order.

A lot of these cars radiators need their cores replaced after a while. Otherwise you will get chronic overheating. They are 35 years old as a minimum.

Does anyone know if the air conditioning is any good? Is it very cold?

Did RR provide a Gulf Spec Silver Shadow?

They were pretty good but lack any outlets to the rear of the car.

Having a light colour car (to reflect sunlight), and a high quality window film like V-Kool is essential. It's not just a question of will it keep the car cold it's also how much more pleasurable driving will be without the noise created by the ACU continually running the blower motors at high speed.

My recollection is that Shadows gassed up with R12 were colder then R134 conversions. I'm not sure what may be available there but most of the third world is awash with all kinds of good stuff banned in The West for decades.

My shadows AC system used to pump out freezing cold air so cold that condensation formed on the chrome air vents.

Standard from 1969-although prior to that it was a popular option.

Off to Qatar in November. Anyone know what the chance of being able to pick one up is out there?
