Evening all,

As you may have seen in the Best Drives in Kent? thread I suggested a gathering for Kent PH'ers as quite a few of us seem to be from the Bromley area.

I haven't yet got a route planned yet, but with the suggestion of littlepaul people can voice their interest or routes in this thread and we'll go from there smile

Many thanks

Phil

Im interested depending on date and time of day. Is it worth putting up a couple of dates and seeing who can make them?

As I said nothing's in the diary yet - just scoping out numbers who are potentially interested and routes if anyone has suggestions?

May have to nick one out of the Kent driving roads thread wink

I will be up for it, date dependent like everyone else.

I'm sure you know already, but be careful on the end route choice. 5/6 cars you can keep together at junctions, but bigger than that and they end getting split into groups at junctions/behind farm vehicles so you need to have deliberate stops every 30mins or so.

Thank you for starting this Phil smile,I am obliviously up for this date depending. Yer i know what you mean about big numbers losing people, also others will probably need to fill up before others depending where they coming from plus route on top. But once we start getting a rough idea of numbers we can go from there and find something suitable for all .

I suppose you could all meet at one place, set a destination so everyone knows where they're going. Then you don't have to worry so much about getting split up.

Hol. I think you're right. Ive been on a drive with more than5/6 cars and the group did split up.

Perhaps as a first drive out we should put a cap on at 6 cars? We can start a reserve list (and there may be a passenger seat free in my car wink)

I'm up for this depending on date and time.

I have been organising Kent/Sussex runs for our club for about 7 years and I have found the practical maximum group size to be 8. With a pre-planned route and a couple of other people who know it well enough acting as 'group leaders' in the right places in the running order you can easily double or treble the numbers. I've had as many as 20+ without anyone getting separated/lost. Also, the earlier the start the less traffic there will be to get in the way.

Agreed.

We often have 20 or more cars on our runs & it can get interesting, 60 was the biggest & that was a bit of a giggle!

As said, planning is everything, give people a copy of the route & dont forget to check out the venue to make sure you can get in & that nothing else is going on in the area that might give you problems.

Drop me a pm if you need any help.

There seems to be recommendations of going out Edenbridge way. I'm game to go out that way - a group of 8 would be a nice number too smile

Red Devil - sounds like you've done quite a few of these then! Would you happen to have any routes in that sort of direction? If not some other local ones would be great biggrin

If we did - a meeting point such as Westerham or Biggin Hill would probably be a good idea? Never organised such a thing before hehe
