Gaming headset
Discussion
Hi, I'm looking to get a wireless headset to use with my PS4, currently looking at the Sony pulse headset, and the Turtle Beach PX3s, budget is around 70, I've seen that the PX3 are 62 on the Turtle beach website, and Pulse's seem to go for around 70-75 on eBay. Any others I should be considering?
Does anyone have any first hand experience of either of the headsets or suggestions either way? I'm currently using PX21's which although have good sound I am just fed up of the wires.
Cheers for any help

You can't go wrong with Turtle Beach, i've just upgraded my 21's to the one's in the link below although i haven't tried them out yet.

Haha, I've ended up ordering a new set of Pulse, they were 86 delivered instead of about 80 for a used set on ebay so if theyre no good I'll be able to make the majority of the money back, what put me off on the Turtle beaches is that I think a chat cable has to be plugged into the controller so not completely wireless whereas the sony set are. Cheers for your input though
Yes it should. I know 1 or 2 have had to buy an extra cable at cost of £2'ish on Ebay. Personally nothing has changed on mine, however as above says on the XBone the chat cable has a complete different cable/connection (muppets). Generally though, reviews will tell you if they will work on other consoles or not.

I did try to Google this, but the filtering here is quite strong for gaming sites.
Has anyone got these working with both the PS4 and XboxOne?
Try amazon for info, BUT its USB !! don't get sucked into the Plantronics RIG its junk amazingly crap! were looking at getting corsair headsets in and binning turtle beach - still undecidedHas anyone got these working with both the PS4 and XboxOne?
Thought i'd bring this thread up rather then start another. Looking at getti g a decent "over ear" headset for the ps4. Options i've considered so far;
Corsair vengeance 1500
Tritton AX pro or 720
Corsair raptor HS40
Asus echelon camo edition
realistic budget to spend is around £50-60
the main issue when browsing is trying to find out about compatability with the ps4 and avoiding ones with microphone conflicts. I did find a Tritton warhead wireless headset but seemed to be more for xb360 and no compatability for the ps4.
Anyone for reccommendations and a rundown of any gaming headsets you may use? Cheers

I've got Turtle Beach PX22s. Wired and no surround sound, but has a handy little inline controller for the volume settings. Works perfectly with the PS4 (although you may need a 3.5mm extension cable depending on where your headphone socket is on the TV)
About £50 from Amazon too
i was hoping to find one which is just a simple plug and play USB job but will look these up. Are turtle beaches more catered for consoles?About £50 from Amazon too
Ok so after a look around and looking at trying to find out about compatability, i have narrowed it down to the following;
Corsair raptor HS40 - USB @ £40
Logitech G430 - USB @ £40-70
Turtle Beach Stealth 500p - Wireless @ £70-90
I have found a decent used set of astro A40'S for sale near to me but £40 short for the next 2 weeks

Ok, so they are way over I budget and I was never a person for headphones at all (tv was fine for console, PC has a reasonable 5.1 system and big screen lounge has 7.1) but, was given a pair of Turtle Beach Elite 800 and I have to say they are bloody impressive.
They connect via bluetooth to my phone to listen to music and make calls and hear messages when playing/watching films etc which is handy, but the sound quality in 7.1 is very impressive. It has presets for music, film and games with another 5 or so presets within those, you can also adjust levels individually with the headset or phone app, built in mic etc. it also has presets for a load of games as well.
Really impressed with them, if the range is anything like these then I would suggest Turtle Beach just for the multiple use of watching films as well, the gun fight after the bank job in Heat was incredible with these things on!

If i was ever going to spend that sort of money on a set i would go for the Astro A50's first off. Borrow my uncle's set now and again and they are superb.
I did have a set of A40's lined up to buy this weekend but getting not getting much joy with the seller at the moment (Don't think they want to post) Bit of a bummer but will give it until tomorrow evening before looking elsewhere for different sets.
Looking ever more likely i will end up trying out the Corsair Raptor HS40's from maplin for now @40 on friday. If they don't work well (mic issues apparently) then i will take a punt on the official wireless 2.0 headset.
