Hi, does anyone have any experience of the above?

my lads team are thinking of organizing a trip to France,

It'll be a great experience for us, and im sure i will get roped into help, so im looking for tips for fundraising, companies to book with, is it cheaper to do it yourself etc.

all advice greatly appreciated.

thanks.

Hello

I have done this at several levels.

Pub team on tour to spain a few years back as well as involved in a premier league team travel.

In essence, if you use a travel agent or tour operator, the service may be good but you will end up paying a management fee. The main advantage is that they should be able to organise the trip from start to finish and ensure any hiccups are ironed out - truth is, it could be overkill.

My advice would be to look into booking it yourself as you can tailor the flights and hotels to fixtures that you have arranged. Look out for cancellation fees and drop outs as low cost carriers insist on 'named' bookings and charge for changes.

One challenge is being able to ensure all travellers have valid travel documentation as well as being able to pull a rabbit out of a hat if a coach in the middle of outer mongolia doesn't arrive.
