Hi guys. A few weeks ago I brought all my tyre pressures up to the correct setting and pressed the TPMS reset button on the dash for the system to learn. After about 30 miles the display read TPMS fault. The car's been back to Bentley with TPMS ECU replaced, latest software downloaded all 4 wheel sensors replaced but the fault won't go away. Bentley are stumped. Any ideas?

Tyre pressure monitors, seem to be next to useless on early (2003-2005) cars. I bought my 2004 GT, seven weeks ago, with the dash warning showing. I looked back through the extensive Bentley service history, and found that the previous owner had done all the replacements you have, to no avail. Talking to a R/R, Bentley specialist about the problem, he said that myself, and probably 50% of older GT owners out there, just live without the sensors. I have driven for 33 years, and for the most part, didn't require TPMS,and will continue without them. Some of the stuff that fails on these cars reallly shouldn't, considering their price, and the cost of simple stuff to rectify faults, because it has a "Bentley" logo on it, is daft. The TPMS ecu, is around £500. WHY? There's more computing power in a £5 pocket calculator, and a new laptop can be had for less. Have fun anyway. Keep firing on all 12...(I sincerely hope) smile

There's just too much "stuff" in these cars - pointless gadgets that are totally unnecessary and are just waiting to fail.
