Heading back to Australia soon and we need to find a car that will fit 3 child seats. They are 2,4 and 6 yrs old.

Does anyone have experience with trying to fit 3 in the current model Forester, or is the Legacy/ Outback better suited.

Thanks, appreciate the advice.

Current 2013/14 Forester should be fine - I tried one and could fit two booster seats and an infant capsule across the back. I've got an 07 Forester and an 05 Liberty and both can fit all three, albeit with a bit of a squeeze - it's access to the belt buckles that's a pain.

thanks. Am currently in Switzerland and thinking of going back to a Subaru (currently BMW X5). I'm from Oz, so am well prepared for the insanity of the car market.

if you need ISOFIX then it's only two in the back

And remember you will need Oz-specific car seats to AS/NZS - ISOFIX now approved but still need top tether.

Not a lot to add to this except my uk spec forester has two top tethers as standard and a flat bench seat, it could take 3 seats, just depends how wide they are.

Shocking, I know and one reason the Japanese cars are so prevalent. That's about 20k GBP by the way and the average salariy in Sydney is something like 75k, and double + for professionals, so it's not a straight comparison. In saying that, I can't believe how lucky you Britts are with so many cheap cars to choose from.

I have put 3 kids in the back of my 05 Forester. I have a Recaro Baby seat on one side and two boosters for my 5 and 6 year olds. Its a squeeze If I am honest.

Not comfy for long periods.
