Loudon for Cup & NNS, Iowa for Trucks.
Trucks get underway at about 2:45am tomorrow morning
NNS saturday night, green is 8:45pm, MotorsTV live from 8pm.
Cup starts 6:15pm Sunday, Premier Sports live from 6:10pm
Jeff Burton is in the cup race.
Biggest news this week is that 9 teams have got together to form the "Race Team Alliance", their aim is to reduce costs in NASCAR. Sounds a little bit FOTA like to me at the moment. Lots of people were curious as to how NASCAR would react, right now they are playing friendly, wonder how long that'll last.

Did we all enjoy the break ?
Indy this weekend,
Nationwide run Saturday, Motors TV are live from 9:30pm
Premier Sports have the Cup race live from 6:30pm on Sunday
Lock up your jet dryers, Montoya is back in Cup for this race, I understand that he won't be with Ganassi in the Indycar series next year, so could well be looking for a drive ?
Penske are allegedly buying in to a V8 supercar team, this might see Marcus Ambrose heading home to drive for the team, everyones tight lipped but apparently the deal is done.

I just watched some NCWTS at Eldora... It took me a while to realise they're running on dirt! I was wondering why they appeared to be sliding the whole time and wondering why the track was so shiny. Its basically polished dirt. Looks like a hoot in a powerful truck with no weight over the rear, I bet thats fun trying to keep that balance the whole race!
Apologies for no post last week, I was away..
Right, to the Glen then. Cup and NNS.
NN run Saturday, MotorsTV are live from 7pm
Cup run Sunday, Premier Sports live from 5pm
Nelson Piquet Jr is to make his Cup debut this weekend, although he hasn't run in NASCAR since 2012 he did have a half decent run in Trucks with Turner Motorsports and a few runs in Nationwide. He'll be in the ##77 Randy Humphreys car this weekend.
Rick Hendrick says that Chase Elliot will probably run some Cup races next year.
Interesting move in the teams - Mark Martin is going to return to Rousch as a driver coach.
Dale Jr is set to lose National Guard sponsorship after they have decided to pull out of motorsport sponsorship. Given his popularity I don't expect it to be a problem for him to pick up others sponsors.

Of course, we're overdue a moan from Ryan Newman: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/115354
Looking at the footage, it's a case of Ryan not respecting track limits; leading to a massive accident rejoining! Seeing as everyone who didn't infringe the limits of the track managed to stay not crash so spectacularly, I wonder...

Split locations this week
Trucks are Cup are in Michigan
NNS on the Mid-Ohio road course
Trucks run in 20 minutes (8:30ish Friday)
Nationwide are live on MotorsTV Saturday at 7:30pm

Stewart is not competing, Jeff Burton will drive the #14.
NASCAR has added a rule that states a driver must not remove their safety protection equipment or exit their vehicle if stopped on track until directed to do so by stewards/track officials. Crew members and drivers should not approach pitlane or the track apron at any time. Appplies to all series immediately.
Carl Edwards move to Gibbs is to be announced on Tuesday.
Woods brothers have announced they are to have a technical alliance with Penske and havenamed Ryan Blaney as their driver.
Look out for Matt Crafton in the #78 for practice and qualifying, he is stiting in for Truex Jr, who is providing support to his partner Sherry Pollex who is undergoing treatment for cancer.
Sponsor news - Hendrick have announced that 3M will be a major sponsor of the #24 car next year after the company ended a 10 year association with Rousch and driver Greg Biffle. There is apparently a replacement sponsor for the #16 car that will be announced in the next few weeks.

Apologies for last week, totally forgot to post and was too late by the time I remembered!
Trucks are in Canada, race is Sunday 6:50pm our time, no TV coverage.
NNS & Cup are in Atlanta. They are both night races, NNS 12:45am Sunday morning, Cup 12:45 Monday morning.
The NNS race is being shown on MotorsTV at 3:30pm Sunday
Premier Sports will show the cup race live from midnight Sunday.
The biggest news is that Stewart is to return for the cup race.
There is only this race and next weeks before the chase begins. Larson is looking to grab a spot from Biffle or Bowyer, ideally these guys need a win to assure their place. Alternatively Larson needs to make up 26 points on Biffle who in turn is 5 points behind Bowyer.
Jayski has an explanation of the rules for these guys:
Atlanta will be Jeff Gordon's 750th Cup start, this leaves him 11th in the starts leaderboard between Ken Schrader and Sterling Martin. Next year he'll jump in to the top 10. He'll need another 130 races or so to reach the top 5. He's pretty handy at Atlanta too, with an average finish of 4th place over the past couple of years and 11.75 from the last 40, just pipped by Stewart at 11.65 off 26 races.
Thats all folks..

Jayski said:
1) If there is a repeat winner, the top-three winless drivers would clinch if they are at least 45 points ahead of the fourth highest winless driver.
2) If there is a new winner at Atlanta, two winless drivers remain guaranteed to make the Chase. In this scenario, the new winner would clinch, if he/she finishes the race at least 49 points ahead of 31st. The top-two winless drivers would clinch if they are at least 45 points ahead of the third-highest winless driver.

He still looks utterly ripped apart.
