Oh yeah, should have added in my post above - what a revelation 4G is! 3G coverage in my town is rubbish, but with 4G I can actually get online anywhere, and with decent speeds as well! smile

Thought about rooting and hacking it but cba.

Have it on my Nexus 7 and it's nice enough. I'll wait til it rolls out officially from HTC.

Can anyone assist with an annoying problem I have developed with my One M8? (sorry I have not read the whole thread)

My wifi connection has a habit of falling off after I have put the phone in sleep for a reasonable amount of time. I will do a bit of browsing then press the top button - then when I go back to the home-screen 10 minutes later instead of being connected I have the little 'wifi with exclamation mark' symbol.

The only temporary fix appears to be to put the phone in and then out of Airplane mode to refresh the settings.

Anyone had this, and is there a proper fix?

Have you got a power saving mode on?

Must admit I've never seen that. I might be wrong but exclamation mark is usually there when you need to sign in?

Yes I always have the 'light' power saving mode on. Both the wifi signals I use have the passwords saved etc and should in theory just automatically connect - put it this way, sometimes they do and sometimes they don't!

ETA - just went to turn power saving mode off. Wifi is 'on' but there is no connection, no symbol, nada.

And when you go into wifi settings there are available networks?

Yup.

It's basically like it knows there are networks but just refuses to connect automatically.

In and out of Airplane mode just seems to refresh / wake it up from it's stupor.

I'll give it a bit of time to see if it improves without power saver on.

But it's bloody annoying!!

In that case I'm all out mate hehe

All I can say is I don't generally have it in power saving mode, but do when the battery gets low. Mine never forgets any wifi.

Within the Wifi settings (so have wifi enabled) select the three dots to show up "Advanced". Do you have an option there "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep"? If so, what option have you got? The phone can be set up to turn off wifi connection whilst the phone is in "sleep" mode and therefore you waking it up again initialises the wifi aspect again and it's simply telling you there are unsecure networks you can connect to. It might be this causing your problems.

Still stock. Got it on my Nexus 7 and not fussed about having it immediately on the phone.
